This article describes the development of a mobile educational VR platform “English VR”. Particular attention is paid to the processes of optimization during a three-dimensional environment development, texturing of 3d-objects and setting up the scene lighting. In con-clusion the possibility of the use of video game industry methods for improved the performance of mobile virtual reality applications (including educational ones) is discussed.
